Shipping Container Rooms: Lunchrooms, Breakrooms, Kitchens, & More

shipping container rooms

Steel containers are used to fill operational gaps on jobsites, at retail stores, and for companies of all kinds. Oftentimes, that looks like providing secure storage for essential things such as merchandise, building materials, or equipment. However, if you need indoor space for employees, containers can also deliver that as well. Shipping container rooms provide a comfortable place for employees to eat lunch, to work, and to get out of the elements.

At TP Trailers & Truck Equipment, we sell a wide range of custom containers and mobile offices to businesses throughout the tri-state region and beyond. Our shipping container rooms are built by outfitting a sturdy steel container with a finished interior tailored to your needs. Check out the common options that are available with these custom containers — and see what they look like.

Modular Lunchroom & Breakroom Options

As is the case with all of our office containers and portable storage units, your custom needs dictate what we build for you. A modular lunchroom can be tailored to fit both the physical constraints of your space as well as the needs of your employees that you’re working to meet. Explore the common considerations and custom options that come along when building a modular breakroom and lunchroom.

Different Configurations

While a dedicated modular lunchroom is a popular option that dedicates space for employees to eat and spend time inside, it isn’t the only configuration. If you don’t want to build a full lunchroom, you can combine a partial breakroom with a partial office or unfinished storage area. A partition wall with a door can be installed to separate the two spaces.

Size Options

As is the case with traditional Conex boxes, our container rooms are available in a wide range of different sizes. Smaller container sizes are effective when you have a limited footprint, whereas larger options are preferable when space isn’t a factor. These are the common sizes of our modular lunchrooms:

  • 8’x20’
  • 8’x30’
  • 8’x40’

We can also build stacked shipping containers that include a breakroom as well. This provides additional usable space without increasing the on-the-ground footprint.

Custom Container Room Options

If you’ve never seen one of our finished shipping container rooms, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the attractive and custom possibilities. You have a wide range of options when building your container. These are common options included in modular lunchrooms:

  • Cabinets
  • Countertops
  • Finished Walls
  • Flooring
  • Electrical Package
  • Lighting
  • Climate Control
  • Insulation

Also Building Dedicated Offices

While modular breakrooms and lunchrooms may be an increasingly popular custom build for our customers, we began this style of work with dedicated mobile offices. Mobile offices, or office containers, provide professionals with a comfortable place to do careful work — when out on a jobsite. Similar to these shipping container rooms, mobile offices are built by finishing and accessorizing storage containers to have the main features of an office — such as writing desks and filing cabinets.
