Local Company Donates Bike to Limerick Township Police
LIMERICK, PA: On Tuesday, February 21st, Chief of Police Brian Skelton presented Limerick-based T.P. Trailers with a certificate of appreciation for its donation of a bicycle to the Limerick Township Police Department Bike Unit during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting.

During his presentation, Chief Skelton explained he implemented a bicycle patrol unit that is dispatched during special events and circumstances due to the unit’s ability to move more easily and directly through crowds and neighborhoods. The bicycle donated by T.P. Trailers, Inc. is specifically equipped for this unit; T.P. Trailers also provided a gift card that will be used to purchase additional bicycle equipment for the officers’ use.
“We are grateful for the generosity of T.P. Trailers, their trust in the police department and most importantly their commitment to our mission of serving our community,” stated Chief Skelton. Tommy Perkins III voiced similar words regarding support of local law enforcement.

“My sister, Donna, and I have always believed that it is important to support the communities that we live and work in, and support our men and women in law enforcement that risk their safety every day to ensure our safety.” Tommy later stated that he looks forward to the bicycle patrol unit because it “is a great way for the officers to interact with each of the residents [of Limerick Township], especially the youth in our community.”
